Eucerin pampering

I always associated Eucerin with skincare for problematic skin, something that your doctor or dermatologist would tell you to use if you had different issues. But at the Beauty Bloggers Meetup, I learned that Eucerin is much more than that - they've really broadened their range of products to suit the needs of everyone.

At the Meetup, I received the Eucerin Anti-Age Hyaluron Filler CC cream and a couple of weeks later, I got another envelope in the mail, this time containing a ph5 Skincare Lotion for sensitive skin.

I will say that I didn't find the lotion to be anything to write home about - it's a nice smelling lotion that isn't very runny, soaks in nicely and quickly and doesn't irritate my skin. Apparently, the ingredient dexpanthenol is supposed to be really beneficial in healing wounds, so it would be a good product to keep around if you have young children who are more prone to cuts and scrapes as us adults. Of course, if you're really clumsy, it would be a good product for you as well.

Adam had Eve, Batman had Robin... and I have my Curaprox Superduo

I have a long lasting affair with Curaprox products. Although I have gone through the first three decades without any problems with my teeth whatsoever (knock on wood), I do contribute a large amount of that luck to the time I invest in dental hygiene and the products I use. Curaprox has been recommended to me by my dentist and I think it's worth every cent that you pay for their products.

At the Beauty Bloggers Meetup, I received the Curaprox Superduo which includes a CS 5460 ultra soft brush and the CPS prime inter-dental cleaner. You can get yours here for 5,92 €. Considering you will be able to use it for about 3 months, it really is a bargain deal.

Anyway, I immediately opened my package since I haven't seen this type of inter-dental cleaner before and wanted to try it out. But when doing so, I noticed this great pun in the back I want to share with you.

Subrina Vitamins & Strength

I am such a sucker for foreign brands that I rarely think about reaching for something domestic, which is unfortunate, really, since I am only now learning how many wonderful brands are being made right here in my backyard.

Subrina is one of the brands that's really been neglected on my part and I got a chance to try two of the products from the Vitamins & Strength line that I got at the Beauty Blogger Meetup. They are sold at the Click2Chic online store. The shampoo costs for 2,34 300 ml and the conditioner 2,49 € for 250 ml.

Both shampoo and conditioner are without parabens, mineral oil and formaldehyde releases meaning that they don't contain all sorts of things that are not really beneficial for your hair or your scalp.

This or That – Beauty Edition Tag

As you are reading this, I am already on my way to the airport. I’ll admit that with all that is happening in my life, it was a bit difficult to plan a lot of posts ahead, especially with the fact that I can barely do any photos since I get home around 17h and poof – the sun is already gone.

So today (and once more in the following week) you will get to learn a bit more about me. Hopefully, you enjoy the tag. I also tag each and every one of you who would be willing to do this tag as well! Let’s get right to the questions!

PART 1: MAKE-UP

Via Daily Mail
1. Blush or Bronzer?
Easy – I love buying blushes but only use them once in a blue moon, but I go through my bronzers like crazy. Bronzer it is. Many bronzers, in fact.

2. Lipgloss or lipstick?
Lighter shade of lipgloss and darker shades of lipstick. But if I had to choose one for the rest of my life, I would choose lipstick.

3. Eyeliner or mascara?
Again, an easy one – I could not live without a good mascara (or three, to be exact).

4. Foundation or concealer?
This is a bit tricky, since I do love my concealers, but I would still go for the foundation, a full coverage one to really cover any imperfections.

5. Neutral or color eyeshadows?
I am trying to be bolder with my make-up looks, but considering that I work in an office and deal with clients, I would still choose neutrals.

6. Pressed or loose eyeshadows?
I would choose pressed, since I’m regularly out of time and I don’t need the hassle of loose eyeshadows all over my bathroom. But I love admiring the loose eyeshadows in stores, especially the duochrome ones that don’t come around often in pressed form.

7. Brushes or sponges?
With the exception of my Beauty Blender, I don’t really care for sponges. So I would choose brushes since I can do everything with them.

I heart makeup Black Velvet palette

I noticed that my Blogvember was strangely lacking in make-up reviews, so I decided to switch posts around a little bit and show you the newest addition to my palette collection, the I heart makeup Black Velvet palette.

This palette was also a gift I received at the Beauty Bloggers Meetup from the online store Licila.si which you all know I am a big fan of and their regular customer. You can get the palette here for  10,95 €. And, you know, feel free to look around, they always have great offers and promotions!

Anyway, back to the palette. This is not my first I heart makeup palette and although I am a bit ashamed of the photos in the post about the last one, you can read about my I heart passion palette here.

This palette is very much one  I can see myself using each day, since it contains so many different shades, but very few are so bold that I'd skip on them for my everyday look.

Secrets of the Trebnik Mansion

Trebnik Mansion, geddit? The brand I want to write about today is actually named Dvorec (i.e. Mansion) Trebnik, but it sounds much more exotic the other way around in English, so I'll roll with it.

I've been obsessed with Dvorec Trebnik bath salts for about a year now and haven't used anything else since I first purchased them. For some reason unknown to mankind, I have not tried any of their other products until we got a nice goody bag at the Beauty Bloggers Meetup (which I keep mentioning and will mention throughout Blogvember, so get used to it) full of products from their DT line.

Inside the bag, we found three products and I've been using two of them non-stop for the past couple of weeks. First, I want to talk about the DT Energy tonic - a refreshing face and body mist.

Oils are not just for cooking: Afrodita Oil products

You know the myth about not ever applying oils to oily hair and oily skin? I personally am well acquainted with it and I deprived my skin and scalp of good oils for years and years. Well, the tables have turned and now I'm a deep believer in providing that extra bit of nurture.

I bought the Afrodita Jojoba oil shower gel a couple of weeks back and guess what - it was my first ever Afrodita shower gel. Like - the first one to enter my bathroom. I went on using it for a couple of days and then I noticed that the amount in the bottle was vanishing at a quicker pace then expected.

Something Yummy

Yummy is another brand that I've never come across in my life and I was super excited to see that a products from their range was gifted to me at the Beauty Bloggers Meetup, courtesy of the online store Click2Chic.

If you visit their store, you will find a whole range of Yummy products in the yummiest scents possible - I am personally most attracted to anything that smells like coconut and vanilla, but I am sure that everyone can find something for themselves.

Anyway, what I found in my box from Click2Chic was this Yummy body butter.

I tend to steer clear from body butters during the warmer months since they take such long time to really soak into the skin and I don't appreciate being all sticky during the summer. Consequently, I don't have much experience to go on, but I do use one particular brand during the winter months.

My Aussie experience

Since the 1st Beauty Bloggers meetup, I have banned myself from shopping completely. I have so many wonderful products at home, so many new brands to explore and so many posts to write that I simply don't need any more beauty products in my life right now.

Consequently, I decided to attempt (to the best of my abilities) a month with a post each single day, which I named Blogvember. Hopefully, I will be able to keep my word and 30 separate posts, although it will be no walk in the park since November is usually the busiest moth of the year at work and I will also be flying somewhere warm to soak my feet in the middle of the ocean during the month. But I believe in myself and hopefully, you will enjoy the posts will bring to you!

One of the brands that I had almost no experience with before the conference is Aussie. I was quite excited to see their products in the gift bags since I have heard many good things about it from other beauty bloggers.

At the conference, I got the Aussie Repair Miracle Shampoo (300 ml, about 5,60 € at Boots) and the Repair Miracle Conditioner (250 ml, also about 5,60 € at Boots). On one of my trips, I also picked up the Aussie Miracle Dry Shampoo (Colour Mate, about 6,6€ at Boots).

Pink October: Pretty in Pink

Most of you probably know that October stands for the breast cancer awareness month. Along with fellow Slovenian bloggers, we decided to join together and dedicate one of our posts to this issue.

As with many other illnesses, prevention and early detection is the key factor. Remember to do regular check-ups and remind your loved ones to do that as well. If you need additional information, talk to your doctor or visit the website of Europa Donna which is a great foundation that fights breast cancer.

For my post, I went through my products and selected those that I really love in the color pink, which is the official color of breast cancer awareness month.

I love the Sleek blush trio in Pink lemonade which includes two powders (left and right) and one cream blush (middle). For highlighter, I can't go wrong with The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer. Both of these are available from Licila.si

The powder blushes are quite intense, so I usually tap away the excess from my brush before applying it. I particularly love the far right shade called Icing sugar for the autumn and winter months – it's a nice coral shade which I think would look great on any skin tone.

2nd October 2015 – Early Christmas for Slovenian Beauty Bloggers

I already wrote a post about everything exciting that happened at the first Beautiful Bloggers Meetup in Ljubljana a week ago, but I didn’t want to go into all the presents that the wonderful sponsors and partners prepared for every blogger at the event.

Most of us had problems carrying everything home, since all the bags together weight close to 20 kg. And let me tell you – the next morning when I was opening the bags, it really was like Christmas. Thank you to every one of the companies – I am super excited to try everything out and to include my reviews in my #blogvember project, which is just around the corner.

Without further ado, here is everything I got in the bags (minus notebooks, pencils and similar), hopefully in alphabetical order of the companies. The reviews won’t come in the same order, though, since some products require more testing than others. But if you’re really anxious to hear about anything as soon as possible, let me know in the comments below.

AFRODITA

Afrodita was the general sponsor of the conference. Bag included: Extra sensitive intimate wash – delicate care, Argan Oil – total repair (6 in 1), Sugar scrub for body (brown sugar and shea butter) and samples of Pearl Prestige skincare line.

ALESSANDRO

Alessandro bag included: a nail file, Mini nail polish from the new winter line, Take Off nail polish remover gel, a lovely USB stick with PR materials and a Veggie nail cream.

AUSSIE

Aussie provided us with full size Repair Miracle shampoo and conditioner. Everything was nicely packaged in a bag, but unfortunately, mine ripped somewhere in the schlepping process.

A new player in town: Golden Rose Slovenia

A week ago, I was kindly invited by Golden Rose Slovenia to join them in opening their first ever store in Slovenia. As some of you who follow me on Instagram know, I mentioned I could live in that store  - it’s absolutely packed with wonderful products and my hands started itching the moment I got there.  The store I visited is in BTC Ljubljana in Hala A, but they opened another one today in Mercator Center in Šmartinska, which by the photos looks just as great and I can’t wait to visit it as well.

Golden Rose is a Turkish brand and this is their first appearance in Slovenia. Even though their selection is already huge, they will be adding BB creams and primers (among other products) to it in the following few weeks. I got a sneaky peek at both of them and I can’t wait to get my hands on the BB cream – it was smooth as butter and really gave good coverage as well.

Anyway, the lovely ladies at the store were very kind and helpful and since I was allowed to pick out a few products to try out, I let them do the choosing. Honestly, I couldn’t be more satisfied with their choices. I also really like the fact that all the products displayed are only testers and the new products are given to you from the back – that way, you’ll always know you’re really getting a new, sealed product that hasn’t been opened yet.

I really think that there is something for everybody in this store – but beware, if you’re a nail polish junkie, you might want to take a day off. All of the products are really inexpensive and what’s even better, the price – quality ratio is absolutely wonderful.

Look Fantastic Beauty Box – August 2015

After some months, I finally used up most of the products from my previous Look Fantastic boxes and decided it was time to see what they have up their sleeve this time.

Look Fantastic Beauty Box is a subscription service box (in which case you save a bit of money), but it can also be bought individually for 20,85 €. Generally, one or two out of 5 products in the box already bring the worth to the 21 € mark, but that doesn't really mean anything if you don't like the products, now does it? This is what I found inside the August box.

I must say that I really like the pick, since I haven't used any of these brands except for Rimmel before. I think that this is a real advantage of subscription boxes as well – being able to use samples or deluxe samples (and sometimes even full size products) of brands I would otherwise probably never reach for or even think about, really.

Freedom Makeup London - review & swatches

A couple of weeks ago, I was fortunate enough to receive a couple of Freedom Makeup products from the online store Licila.si. In the package, I found the following three products.

I was most excited about the bronzing trio, since I'm always on the hunt for the perfect bronzer/contour. This is the Bronzed professional Pro in Shimmer lights (you can get it here for 5,95 €).

The packaging doesn't seem the sturdiest, but for the price, a bit of saving on that front can be expected. I am also not particularly happy about the fact that there is no mirror on the compact.  The three colors can be used mixed together in a shimmery bronzer or used separately, which is how I use them. I normally prefer the colors to be physically separated in the compact, but each of the shades is big enough for my brushes so I don't pick up the shades I don't want to.

The swatches on hand don't do complete justice to the product, since the brush picks it up a bit better, but this is more to give you an idea about the colors and shades. I really like the pink shade of the blush and the warmth of highlighter, but the actual bronzer has very poor pigmentation.

The next item I received is the Pro Conceal Palette in Light/Medium (get it here for 6,95 €).

Again, the packaging is nothing special, but I like the variety of the shades in this palette a lot, since I don't own anything like this at all.

From the entire palette, I've been using the right two shades the most so far – the beige for actual spots and imperfections and the yellow toned shade as an under-eye concealer. The consistency of these concealers is quite soft, so I would definitely suggest putting a setting powder on top if you want them to remain in place for the entire day. Still, I think that regarding the amount of product you get in one palette, this is really good value for money.

The last surprise gift was the Pro Lipstick in 109 – Red Wine (available here for 1,95 € along with numerous other lovely shades).

This lipstick is right up my alley since I'm trying to step out of my comfort zone a bit with some bolder colors. It swatches quite lighter than it appears in the packaging, so it's not a dark red, but rather a light red with a bit of fuchsia undertone. I love this lipstick and I'll probably get some darker shades for the upcoming winter months.

I would like to see your reviews or opinions on the Freedom products as well, so leave them below!

Until next time, stay beautiful.

New products – August 2015

I tried to be reasonable with my shopping in the past month, since I've got quite some business and personal trips coming up in the near future and I intend to purchase some products that are not easily available to me in Slovenia (or not at all). That being said, I still slipped on some occasions and I also received some Freedom Make-Up from Licila.si to try out, but I will review those in a separate post.

First off, I took advantage of a nice Yves Rocher offer where one could choose three products for 12,50 € (the promotion is still valid).

Since I've never tried Yves Rocher products before, this seemed like a nice opportunity. I bought the Replumping serum foundation, Blackberries sparkling body powder and Hair Repair Oil. The company also sent me some extra samples to try out and a shopping bag which comes in handy for my everyday grocery purchases.

I haven't tried all of the products yet, but can I just point out how beautiful this packaging from the sparkling body powder is? I absolutely love the little puff and the smell of it as well – it really does smell like blackberries!

It was love at first sight for me and the Kaviar Gauche for Catrice face powder (about 2,5 € on sale). This one comes in shape of little balls which can easily be gently swirled around with a smaller face brush and give away just enough product. I personally use them as highlights on my cheekbones, since they are a bit too shiny for the entire face. I give Catrice ***** on the packaging alone – it could have easily been a Chanel or Dior product as well.

I also purchased two Bourjois products from Look Fantastic website – the Silk Edition Compact powder (12,75 €) which I've used before and absolutely love, and another shade of Bourjois Rouge Edition 12 Hour Lipstick in Rose Vanity (11,35 €).

I really like the consistency of these lipsticks and although they don't exactly last for 12 hours, they are still reasonably long-lasting and not drying at all, which is something I normally associate with long-lasting lippies.

I have not yet touched The Nuxe Melting Cleansing Gel with rose petals (17,75 €), but I have used up samples from the Rose line before and liked them quite a lot.

I am also excited to use the Kera Care Silken Seal (10,65 €) – since reading the great reviews for this product on Look Fantastic website, this was the product I was most excited for to arrive. I will definitely report back on it.

And since I did spend quite a lot of money on the Look Fantastic website, I was gifted some extra goodies from them. I received the Origins Skin Saviour Set (worth 27 €) which includes a face wash, exfoliator and overnight mask. But as if they suspected that my skin is in quite rough shape at the moment, I also got the Elemis Absolute Spa Collection (worth 67 €) that includes a milk bath, Pro Collagen Marine Cream and Papaya Enzyme Peel. I am looking forward to treating my skin to these new products and see if any of them will work wonders.

Stay tuned for the review of Freedom Make-up products coming up tomorrow! Until then, stay beautiful!

Autumn Wish List 2015

I love summer, but as far as colors go, I am more of an autumnal being by heart. Today, I wanted to share my wishlist for upcoming months, so we can review my successes and fails in the shopping department around Christmas time.

I would love for any of you to share your wish lists with me as well – I can never have enough inspiration when it comes to shopping. Also, if you know of any good dupes for the listed products, they would also be more than welcome  (and my wallet will probably be eternally grateful to you as well).

face products fall

Because you know I'm all about that BASE, that base, ... I love the look of perfect skin and never get tired of buying new and new products in the search for that perfect combination. This autumn, my eyes are set on Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation. Apparently, it's a full coverage foundation but doesn't produce the appearance of a mask on the face. Same goes for Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer - it promises to really cover all the imperfections and dark circles, but doesn't look too heavy on the face.

Stick contour is something I’ve wanted to try since forever, but I really might take the plunge this fall. I’ve got my eyes set on the Smashbox Step-by-step Contour Trio. I’ve chosen this brand because the colors are apparently quite easy to blend out (which is my biggest concern) and also have good staying power.

Last but not least – how could anyone not want at least one of these Real Techniques brushes from Bold Metals Collection? I love my RT brushes as is for their overall quality, but these are so gorgeous and luxurious that I absolutely need at least one in my life.

fall lips

Autumn collections bring some pretty strong and powerful lip colors, which I need to learn to love and appreciate on my lips as well, not only on other people. I’m eyeing the Catrice Shine Appeal in Marry Berry. First off, I’m a big fan of this packaging, since it’s different to anything else we’ve seen from Catrice so far. But more importantly, Catrice continues to amaze me with most of their products in terms of price: quality ratio and I’m positive that this lip gloss will be no exception to this rule.

For lipsticks, I need some more MAC in my life and I really, really want this MAC Fixed on drama lipstick, a matte red with brown undertones. I don’t own anything in this color yet and somehow I feel like I’m missing out.

This NARS High Shine Lip Gloss in Pink Grapefruit is more of a phantasy, really, since I’ll probably never spend that much money on a gloss. But it is a really nice color for days when I just can’t be forced to make a real effort.

Last, we can’t finish this lip section without the EOS in Sweet Mint. This is my favorite flavor of EOS in general and since it is coming to its inevitable end, I’m probably going to repurchase it.

nail polish fall

In the random category, I've been wanting another beige nail polish - I really love my OPI Don't pretzel my buttons, but I’ve never tried Ciate polishes before and I’m curious. This one is in Cookies and Cream. To spice things up, I’m going to try to find this Berry M polish in Bright Purple – this much color I can handle even in fall months.

Last but not least, I need to tackle the eyebrows issue. I’ve been using the same NYX Cake Powder for the last year and not only am I running out, I’m quite bored with it to be honest. Since everyone and their mother raves about Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade, I might as well cave in and buy myself one. Hopefully, it will be better than the contour palette.

So that’s my wish list  - naturally, I’m not going to buy everything on it, but if I do, I’m certainly going to share it with you.

Until next time, stay beautiful!
